The project started on February 13, 2020. While others turned to knitting or baking during the lockdown, I decided to create a C15 for a racing simulator. Someone had already designed a Ford Transit for Assetto Corsa, and we had a blast racing on rally specials and small French roads with one of the collaborators who helped me with the mod.

It was the successor to the Citroën Acadiane, which had replaced the Citroën 2CV vans that pioneered the box van format from the 1950s to the 1970s, although the Acadiane continued in production alongside the C15 initially. What we have here is one such conversion, dubbed the Rhino C15, taking on some gnarly off-road trails in France, equipped with nothing more than all-terrain tyres, a front-mounted winch and a snorkel amusingly.

The Citroën C15 is based on the Visa city car, a tiny 5 door hatchback, in much the same way that the old 2CV Fourgonnette was based on a standard 2CV: hack it off behind the front doors, and stick a big box on the back. It's an easy way to make a commercial vehicle on the cheap, and it worked for decades: the C15 was produced from 1984-2005.
